Karen Conkey, LPCC-S

Karen Conkey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, peer and family relationships, ADHD, and mood, adjustment and behavioral disorders.

Karen uses an eclectic approach that includes cognitive-based, strength-based and solution-focused therapy. She works to support and empower clients and guide families in raising the client’s level of functioning for greater success in school, at home, and in other important areas of their life. Karen believes every child is capable of making the changes needed to be their best and healthiest self.

Prior to joining Behavioral Wellness Group, Karen taught in an elementary school in Northeast Ohio and continues to work with children, adolescents and teens through a mental health agency, interacting with clients and their families in both school and home settings.

While teaching, Karen earned her Master of Education in Reading, and following her time in the classroom, she completed her Master of Education in School and Clinical Counseling at John Carroll University.
