Testimonials

(Michael Pollak, Dual Diagnosis IOP) “This IOP program has been life changing. Michael truly cares about his patients. I never felt judged or unable to speak my mind during the sessions. He also made sure that the group environment was one where we all felt safe, respected, and comfortable to have these difficult discussions about our addictions. I never imagined being able to talk about alcohol issues with anyone, but I felt so comfortable in our group that I was completely open and honest about everything. I also felt supported by Michael and the group members throughout this entire process. I never felt “alone”. I love that this program focuses on addiction but ALSO the underlying causes behind it such as depression, anxiety etc.... It helped me to understand why I have the relationship with alcohol that I did and how to handle emotions/situations without it. All of the skills we were taught were instantly applicable to real life. I honestly cannot think of anything that needs improvement. This has been one of the most important and best experiences of my life.

Michael has saved my life. I know that might sound “dramatic”, but he truly has. I was headed down a bad path with alcohol and got my first legal problem with it. Alcohol was truly ruining the bright future I had worked so hard for, and I was terrified to quit and terrified not to quit as well. Completing the IOP has given that light back to me in regard to my future. I know it will continue to be hard work BUT I now have the skills and
confidence to be successful at sobriety. I cannot thank Michael and my fellow group members enough. I will always be thankful for this experience.”

(Stephanie Cerula, Evening Adult Mental Health IOP) “Stephanie supports and empowers folks struggling with mental illness. When I met with Stephanie C., for my intake, I had some things come up that made me emotional. Stephanie teared up as well, and she also did once in class when a member brought up some heavy things. Stephanie truly cares about others and it shows. Stephanie also gives great advice to help navigate members using any of the various coping strategies from the course.”

(Genna Weinberg, In Person IOP) “Comfortable atmosphere with well rounded group of ages to share personal information. Genna specifically always made me feel comfortable and gave us options to share or not share.  Genna, thank you so much for showing so much care for everyone in the group. I truly felt your empathy and really appreciate how you go above and beyond for everyone to feel comfortable. You always offer extra resources and personal suggestions. You are a gem, and BWG is lucky to have you.”

(Stephanie Cerula, Evening Adult Mental Health IOP) “Listen to everyone and provide feedback. I feel the group is a very good
program and I felt it helped me a lot with my issues and taught me skills to use for my issues.”

(Michael Pollak, Dual Diagnosis IOP) “I thought Mike did an excellent job running the program. It really helped me. I really miss all the people I met in the IOP, and I wish everyone the best.”

(Dr. Glovan, Health and Wellness IOP) “Unconditional support, honest yet compassionate feedback, keeping track of details in our lives and the evolution seen in each other clear explanation of skills with good examples and real-world application. The program was life-changing for me. I experienced the rewards of connection and support that come from vulnerably sharing my experiences in group. I gained more self-awareness and knowledge about how to maintain my mental health, and I walked away with more confidence to cope with life’s challenges. Thank you for ushering me through a difficult time in my life with such care.”

(Dr. Glovan, Health and Wellness IOP) “Best at listening/understanding. Also very good at giving compliments and letting us know that it is okay to feel the ways we do, not to forget how we handle those feelings and encouraging our use of coping skills. I truly feel that Dr. Glovan cares about every one of us.“

"(Genna Weinberg, In-Person IOP) Foster a caring, nonjudgemental & insightful learning environment for everyone. Genna truly cares & it shows. She has helped me improve my self-esteem profoundly.”

(Dr. Glovan, Health and Wellness IOP) “Helping us put skills to use in everyday life. Engraining neuroplasticity to help maintain. Help reaching goals and full support. Helpful and kind attitudes. Feels like family. I am so happy I have had this program. It has benefited me so much in life and I couldn’t have gotten through these last few months without IOP. Thank you.”

(Genna Weinberg, In Person IOP) “I just wanted to reach out and express some gratitude for you and the program. I am doing so SO much better and I would not be where I am without the time I spent in the IOP.  The work you do is truly life changing and I hope you know that! You go above and beyond to help people during their worst times. Your positive attitude and encouragement is amazing. I can’t wait to be a therapist and help people like me, and your example will always be in my mind.”

(Maddie McDowell-Rabah, College Mental Wellness IOP) “Maddie does a great job keeping everyone attentive and involved in the session. She is also great at really listening and getting to know each individual in the group.”

(Stephanie Cerula, Evening Adult Mental Health IOP) “Stephanie is caring and supportive. She explains the lessons well and takes a vested interest in our lives and the progress we make. I would highly recommend her IOP to anyone struggling with their mental health.”

(Michael Pollak, Dual Diagnosis IOP) “You are caring and approachable.  All clients are heard from, and time is set aside (for bigger issues to be discussed).  I entered the program to deal with my anxiety and depression and learned so many new life skills that I can now apply to my daily life.”

“This program is amazing... the best therapy I have ever received. I feel well equipped to carry on both in my sober life and with how I respond to people and my interpersonal skills. I also am way more cognizant of taking care of myself and treating myself way better... Thank you for making it easy to care for myself. I am so grateful for the program and for Michael."

"The strength and support that I have received from this group (The Health and Wellness Intensive Outpatient Program) is unbelievable. Dr. Glovan is an amazing therapist and human being. far, and he does a great job.”
