John Fioritto, LPCC, LICDC
John Fioritto is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor providing individual counseling to adults. His area of focus includes substance abuse, dual diagnosis, depression, and anxiety disorders. John helps adults navigate emotional and behavioral challenges with compassion, evidence-based care, including Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and real-world strategies that work. His goal is to help you move from surviving to truly living, where you will find peace of mind, stability, and purpose.
John attended Lake Erie College, where he also played football. He later transferred to The Ohio State University and obtained his Bachelors of Science in Human Ecology in 2015. John earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University, where he was inducted into the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society for academic and professional excellence. His work as an Inpatient Counselor has provided deep experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and managing complex cases involving co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. John also provides clinical supervision and leads psychoeducational groups focused on stress management, emotional wellness, and personal development.
We are pleased to announce that John Fioritto, LPCC, LICDC, will be taking over our Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) effective August 3rd, 2026. John is a valued member of our team and brings extensive experience working with individuals facing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. His clinical expertise, leadership, and commitment to evidence-based care make him an excellent fit for this role. We are confident that John will continue to provide high-quality, compassionate care and lead the Dual Diagnosis IOP with dedication and professionalism.
Before entering the field of mental health, John worked as a Sports Performance and Fitness Coach, where he developed a strong understanding of motivation, discipline, and the mind-body connection. This background influences his holistic approach to counseling—helping clients recognize how emotional and physical health are deeply intertwined.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his daughters JJ and Mia, his wife Ashley, his 3 siblings and his 7 nieces and nephews. John is an avid Cleveland sports fan who also enjoys lifting weights and trading Bitcoin.
