Kirstyn Watts, MS

Kirstyn is a counseling psychology doctoral student, currently supervised by Dr. Erin Kotkowski, Psy.D. She offers individual therapy to individuals 18 and older. She is training to provide psychological testing and assessment services. Kirstyn’s previous practicum sites include community mental health agencies and a university counseling center.

Kirstyn values social justice and incorporates a multicultural approach to explore and appreciate the individual differences of her clients. She has experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and trauma. Kirstyn’s treatment approach is integrative and adaptive to meet the individual needs of each client. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Kirstyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of West Florida, and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Columbus State University. She is currently enrolled at Cleveland State University, where she is a third-year Counseling Psychology doctoral student.
